MIXED SENSOR MODALITIES AND LIGHT EXPERT (F/M/X)

Location: Remote (Laboratory location: Woerthsee)
Duration: Part-time (Minijob)

Responsibilities

  • Investigate Mixed Sensor Modalities:
    • Research and analyze various sensor modalities suitable for quality inspection systems.
    • Evaluate the integration of different sensor types (e.g., vision cameras, infrared sensors, depth sensors) to optimize data collection and enhance inspection accuracy.
    • Conduct experiments to compare and contrast sensor performance under different environmental conditions and production scenarios.
  • Optimize Light Choices for Quality Inspection Systems:
    • Investigate lighting techniques and configurations (e.g., dark field illumination, structured lighting, polarized lighting) suitable for quality inspection.
    • Design experiments to evaluate the impact of different lighting setups on the visibility of surface features and defect detection.
    • Develop methodologies to optimize lighting conditions for varying production environments and materials.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, data collected, and outcomes.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings, including recommendations for sensor modalities and lighting configurations.
    • Present findings to the project team and stakeholders, highlighting key insights and potential implementation strategies.

Requirements

  • Background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with sensor technologies and imaging systems.
  • Hands-on experience with experimental design and data analysis.

  • Effective communication skills in English; German proficiency is a plus.
